Questo è il metro della più famosa forma poetica giapponese, l’haiku.
Tre tavole, 17 vignette.
Questo è quello che ci vuole per trasporli.
O almeno, questa è la sfida che vi voglio lanciare. Tre tavole, cinque, sette e cinque vignette per tavola. Nessun dialogo, come testo solo quello della poesia scelta (un haiku, classico o moderno, giapponese o no, non importa). Il tutto da esporre online e da far giudicare al pubblico, senza nulla in palio, se non il diritto di bullarsi.
L’idea mi è venuta in mente come esercizio di stile per me (stavo provando a lavorare su ritmo e scansione delle vignette), ma mi è sembrata una buona idea in generale, e pensare alla Writers Death Race che aveva organizzato il Rrobe l’anno scorso mi ha fatto completare l’idea.
Se vi va di raccogliere la sfida, siete i benvenuti.
Su queste pagine potrete vedere gli haiku e votarli. Pensavo di aprire le votazioni il 1 Aprile, perciò ci sono tre mesi di tempo per completare la vostra opera.
Ovviamente commenti e idee sono ben accetti.
AGGIORNAMENTO: mi è stato segnalato (da uno dei commenti a questo post e da una conversazione che ho avuto in privato), che forse un punto non è chiaro, perciò vediamo di spiegarlo meglio. La sfida è aperta a tutti, non solo agli autori completi. Perciò se siete nella mia situazione, cioè non sapete disegnare, non c’è nessun problema. Basta che troviate qualcuno che lo faccia per voi. Lavorate in team. E un’altra cosa: non c’è nessuna restrizione di tecnica, stile o formato, purché lo schema di base (tre tavole, 5, 7 e 5 vignette per tavola, nessun dialogo) venga rispettato.
AGGIORNAMENTO 2: sul forum di Comicus ho aperto un topic sull’argomento, che per ora può servire come FAQ e come ulteriore canale di comunicazione.

Or, at least, this the challenge I am issuing. Three pages, five, seven, and five panels each. No dialogues, and only the chosen poem as text (a classic or modern, Japanese or not, haiku). To be shown online and judged by the online community, with nothing on the line except bragging rights.
The idea came out as an exercise in style (I was focusing on pace and panel succession), but it looked like it was a good idea, and thinking about the Writers Death Race that Rrobe organized last year made it happen.

UPDATE: it came to my attention (both in one comment below and in a live chat I had), that maybe there is a dark spot to be cleared up. This challenge is open to everyone, not only to complete artists. So if you are like me (totally unable to draw, that is), it is not a problem. Find someone to draw the thing for you. Work as a team. And another thing: there are no limitations in terms of technique, style or format, as long as you stick to the pattern (three pages, 5, 7, and 5 panels per page, no dialogue).
